If you’ve been enjoying Depth Writing With Dr Rachel and would love to connect with others and do more in the sunny climes of South Portugal, I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be hosting a depth-writing retreat in the beautiful cork woods of Monte da Japonica this October.

Fire Your Wild Imagination will include daily depth writing workshops where we will write, share and discuss with others as well as having plenty of time to write alone and explore the cork woods and olive groves in the charming grounds of this historic family estate. It will be a rejuvenating time of exploration and connection, writing and reflection, spending time in nature and enjoying meals together around the Monte da Japonica kitchen table.

The retreat is for anyone who is curious about how writing can be used to access the unconscious and untether creativity alongside creative and therapeutic practitioners who would like to expand their range. The focus of the retreat will be on process, rather than outcome, and on what comes up in the writing, rather than craft, skills and technique. Although the practice of depth-writing is therapeutic, it is not therapy so you’re invited to take responsibility for your own experience, go at your own pace and engage with the material at a level that feels right for you. No previous writing experience is necessary and there will be no pressure to read anything out.

All you need is a spirit of adventure and curiosity.
