Write, imagine & explore the pioneering ideas of Carl Jung with Write Your Undiscovered Self

5 week online course, every Monday in March 2025, 6pm - 8pm GMT

As a new year unfolds, I'm feeling increasingly pulled towards deepening my inner work practice of working with writing, imagination and the night time language of psyche, creativity & the unconscious in order to find meaning and purpose in times of chaos and uncertainty.

It's a process that continues to take me deeper and further into the invisible matrix of a larger healing reality that has made my life immeasurably richer and fuller.

Working with writing & imagination to tap into the hidden potential and creativity of our ‘undiscovered self’ is a practice I love sharing with others.

So I'm delighted to share that bookings are open for my five week online course Write Your Undiscovered Self in association with the London Arts-Based Research Centre - the wonderful Jungian arts-based research organisation where I’m also a member of the Editorial Team.

Write Your Undiscovered Self will take place online Monday March 3rd - Monday March 31st 6-8pm GMT

Over the five weeks you will have an opportunity to encounter your wild unconscious through an introductory exploration of your creative inner child, the embodied wisdom of your great self and the dark emotions behind your shadow self with a view to attuning to the lessons each has to teach and deepening your sense of self as grounded in a larger, healing reality.

The course includes

• An accessible introduction to key Jungian concepts, including the collective unconscious, the archetypes, active imagination & individuation

• Short writing exercises of approximately between 5 and 15 minutes

• Small group discussions and sharing in a supported learning environment

• Weekly worksheets with exercises for you to complete in your own time

• Weekly recordings

Write Your Undiscovered Self is for:

• Anyone interested in inner work who enjoys writing

• Creative & therapeutic practitioners who would like to expand their range

To get the most of out the course, you’re encouraged to set aside 1-2 hours a week to do the depth-writing exercises on the worksheets in your own time, in addition to the weekly two hour online sessions.

A note about care

Although Write Your Undiscovered Self is therapeutic, it’s not therapy so you are encouraged to be responsible for your own experience, go at your own pace and engage with the material at a level that feels right for you.

About me

I’m a Jungian-based writer and teacher with a PhD in the synthesis of Jungian psychoanalysis with creative writing. I have a background in both the media and academia as a journalist and former Editor of arts & culture magazine Dazed & Confused and a lecturer with over twenty years’ experience, respectively. I now run a programme of depth-writing courses, workshops & retreats and am passionate about sharing my travels between worlds with others in an accessible, inclusive and heart-centred way. My research is published in numerous academic journals, I’m an Editorial Team Member of the London Arts-Based Research Centre, an Associate Member of the Higher Education Association (UK), co-Editor of forthcoming Routledge publication The Creative Psyche: Between Spirit and Matter and a regular speaker with UK-based public education organisation, Seed Talks.

I really enjoyed Rachel’s course. I particularly liked the learning about different aspects of Jung's approach and applying it to unconscious parts of myself. I'm very familiar with my critic but I also found a cheerleader in there who really has my back and I hope to continue to get to know her / them better. I also found a part that is holding a lot of grief/sorrow. I know this part but I don't always connect with it and whenever I do, I feel a bit more freedom inside. I had such a great experience on Rachel’s course. The most enjoyable and beneficial aspects, for me, were the writing exercises themselves, and doing them in the context of a group made it feel like we were all on a journey together.
