This is a beautiful article that I think perfectly encapsulates why I'm so drawn to the beach — it's always felt like a place that exists between the thin, porous line between the unconscious and conscious, or the numinous and the mundane.
I thoroughly enjoyed your writing and especially enjoyed your recorded reading. It made it feel much more intimate. It reminded me of the days of my youth spent on the pacific coast at some of the "clothes optional" beaches. Such a freeing feeling and there is nothing like the power of the ocean. I especially liked "The smile of the beach widens into a grin." and also "On the beach everything is more naked and exposed, including ourselves. Stripped to our bikinis and shorts, or perhaps nothing at all, without the protection of our masks and self-constructed identities, we are more vulnerable to the wilds of the unknown. We dissolve at the edges, merge, disappear, become one with the beach. At the same time, we feel freer, more liberated, more our true selves.
Wonderful to hear you enjoyed this post Anne! And that it invoked such vivid memories of beaches for you... the power of the ocean and the freeing feeling it evokes is so magnetic! Here's to being more liberated and more our true selves! x

This is a great read, thank you! (Reading it on a beach 😊)
Hoping your beach has a great view onto the unknown!
