And a home - we’ve made a magazine to bend the arc of the possible towards a liveable future where we’re integrated again with the web of life — Bending The Arc magazine if you’d like to submit work, subs open 7th July.
“Any artist who works inside the system for long enough is always going to get corrupted by it in the end.” - oh this is what I’ve just experienced and I am disillusioned by it; by the entire ‘industry’ of the arts. This is what it’s for; expression, spirit, sense making, self conviction and collective revival! I want to honour your grief in this post Rachel and express kinship in the overwhelming rage of the concurrent eruptions of collapse happening where and what feels like everywhere. x with love and light x
Hello Hayley, I'm sorry to hear about your experience and feelings of disillusionment. I hear you! But thank you for your generous words. The spells we weave together, I believe, have the power to transcend the web of unequal, often invisible power systems of capitalism. I'm keeping some room in my heart for the unimaginable, as Mary Oliver said. Keep up your brilliant work Hayley and love to you too xx
My writing (just a few words at a time) is my art. Reacting to others' writing. We sustain each other by lighting up that little heart at the bottom of the post. Protesting is art, too.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful words, which read like a spell Leslie. Magic and art are surely what we create together and your image of the hawk powerfully captures this.
Feeling very inspired by this 💚
Glad to hear that Roosje - we spread the magic together.
The manifesto for urgency needs a poster x

Art is a spiritual practice in my book. And I agree with Helmut and Toni...we 'll need to learn to listen to the muses.
Yes, let's all turn to the muses...

Standing with a sign
Energy rippling outward
Hawks catch the updraft

We must be shamans now. The alchemists of uncertainty.
I'll see you in the woods with a cape and divining rod...
